Four Boys on a Beach: When Our Love Affair For the Beach Began

Scott & I have always loved everything about the beach. We are water lovers by nature and thoroughly enjoy being in the sun and sand. We vacationed on the beach in Mazatlan Mexico for our Honeymoon.

Yes, this is us when we were 18 years old (a long time ago).

After we were married, we discovered Puerto Penasco (AKA Rocky Point) Mexico. This was a small fishing village about an hour south of the border (4 hour drive from our house). We were young and broke and it was a cheap vacation to drive to the ocean and camp on the beach.

We were camping right about where Las Palomas Resort

is now located.

At that time, there were no big resorts along Sandy Beach. There was one little bar called The Reef down the beach from where we would camp. JJ's Cantina was the place to hang out.

We set up tents and volleyball and rode ATC's right along the ocean. We used to be able to drive our truck right down to the water and pull people behind it riding on a board.

Jump ahead to 2005 and add four kids to our family. Our life was so hectic raising four little boys that we hadn't made it back to Rocky Point in years. We started enjoying more and more time in Rocky Point with our friends while staying in different resorts along Sandy Beach or in a house in Las Conchas.

For the next two years we vacationed on the new Sandy Beach which was now covered with huge resorts and ocean front homes. We liked to stay at the Sonoran Resorts.
